With Prime Minister Narendra Modi giving a historical shock by demonetizing the 500 and 1000 rupee notes, almost every other citizen has become a financial analyst and economist. They are looking at ways and means of wriggling out of the situation.
Meanwhile, the film industry also has its share of challenges. Given the situation now, budgets have to be cut in Tollywood. The average budget for a big movie is 40 crores wherein 20 crores is hero remuneration itself. Normally, they charge half in black.
The same is the case with the star director who takes double digit remuneration. Since that is not possible now, if budget does not exceed 18 crores and hero’s remuneration is 6 or 7 crores only then making a film works out or else it is not possible. The preferable option would be offering share of profit to the heroes. Let us see what happens.
