Most of you might get upset when we say there is something bigger than cricket in India because the sport is nothing less than a religion. However, when the same game is converted into a celluloid product, the parameters change and so does its composition.
The film analysts say Cricket is okay but for a film based on cricket to be successful, the most important thing is the screenplay. This is one reason why the Bollywood movie Lagaan featuring Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan worked big time at the box office.
On the contrary, the much talked about Azhar based on the life of Md Azharuddin flopped. Even the length of the film is not an issue but engaging screenplay is a must. We have to see how the new movie MS Dhoni- The Untold Story will appease the viewers.
