In case you want to be in the good books of the cinema industry there are two jobs that you should not take up, that of a film critic and that of a member in the censor board. Lately, the latter job seems to have become much more controversial.
As such, the job of the censor board is to suggest cuts that are not in norms of Indian morality and issue a certificate accordingly. However, the friction between filmmakers and the board has increased significantly and this is more in the Bollywood arena after Pahlaj Nihalani took over.
Now, one bold attack has happened on his censor board and this is from the noted name Rakhi Sawant. Apparently, her new movie has been given an ‘A’ and Rakhi has breathed fire on Nihalani and others. She reportedly alleged censor board members are demanding bribes and they are not fit to sit in their chair. The final touch is, Rakhi offered to become censor board chairman and promised she would do a fabulous job. Whatever!
