Just recently the movie Pelli Choopulu created such a storm at the box office that it is being called as the Baahubali of small budget films. And it took quite a bit of twists and turns for the film to get there. Apparently, the film was to be produced by Lakshmi Manchu first.
However, it is heard that some of the established heroes weren’t willing to do it so Lakshmi gave up. The story went to Daggubati Suresh Babu. He liked it and reportedly suggested his good friend Raj Kandukuri should do the project. He wanted to takeover once it came out well.
As anticipated, the film came out very well and eventually Suresh Babu took over and distributed it in both the Telugu states. In all this, Raj Kandukuri became the star for executing the project so well and handling it in the right manner. Meanwhile, Pelli Choopulu is still going steady in theatres.
