We all feel proud that Tollywood is one industry which produces maximum number of movies in India and sometimes it also beats the record of the big Bollywood. But a closer look reveals that a majority of them are small and medium budget flicks. So, the real economy for industry comes from big flicks.
At the same time, when a big movie flunks, it causes a big dent to the exchequer. This summer, the big releases have proved to be a damp squib. Power star Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh and superstar Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam have disappointed at the box office.
So, the trade pundits are insisting that there is a dire need for one big hit to bring some oxygen to Tollywood. The immediate promising release is A…Aa but it falls under the medium budget flick only. It is not until July when we have movies like Kabali and Babu Bangaram arriving. Let us hope for the best.
