While considering the hot seasons for films to do well at the box office, the summer season comes first. This is the time when big budget flicks make arrangements to arrive so that they can cash in on the holiday season. While this formula works very well for the domestic market, it is not the same overseas.
In the last few years, overseas market has become an important component for the business of cinema especially in Tollywood. That way, though summers are considered best here, it is actually a nightmare for the overseas distributors. The NRI audience is quite demanding when it comes to movies.
It doesn’t matter whether the film has A-listers like power star Pawan Kalyan or superstar Mahesh Babu, if the content is not upto the mark then the thumbs down comes within no time. For the record, this summer has been a nightmare for the overseas distributors because all the biggies flunked.
