You can call yourself a successful and intelligent person in the industry only if you have the ability to judge the potential of a script. Not many people have that gift and this is the reason why even some of the big star movies also end up as duds due to lack of proper judgment on the content and script.
One man who seems to be quite good at it is writer Gopi Mohan. Recently he was sharing his thoughts in an interview where he said something like this “I was confident about the story of Dookudu but Kona Venkat was not. However, after the film’s result he appreciated me a lot.”
He added “The same is the case with Geetanjali and my calculation was right. However, when I expressed doubts on Sankarabharanam it was not taken. Maybe I should have stressed more about my opinion and that could have saved Kona a flop.” Better luck next time Gopi and Kona!
