When a film fails to click at the box office, there are many instances wherein the producers are also safe but the worst hit are the distributors. And lately, due to the high prices being quoted for movies, in the event of them not working out, the distributors are literally going bankrupt.
In lieu of that, the distributors are now changing their strategy. It is heard that they are planning to involve the director and producer as part of the deal through some legal agreements. Earlier, such things were done orally in few instances but not anymore. The agreement is about payback.
So, even if the movies don’t work as expected, the distributors want producers and heroes to do some compensation so that they are not damaged strongly. Usually director and producer used to have this sort of agreement and understanding but now even distributors are also joining the fray.
