You might be a very gifted musician and have the best grip over composing tunes but that alone is not sufficient to become a big name in the music industry. Times have changed and the dynamics have become stringent especially in Bollywood. There seems to be no future for future music directors there.
As such, there are many who are getting inspired by the likes of A R Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Jatin-Lalit and entering the circuit. But then, doing single card music composition for a film has become impossible in Bollywood. Multiple music directors are doing single songs for one movie.
The same trend is slowly creeping up in Tollywood also. So, at the end of the day, each individual song has its own merit and based on that only your talent as a music director gets judged. This only means every single track you churn out has to be the best and better than the previous one.
