The feel good love story Premam became a blockbuster in Malayalam cinema in the year 2015. The film was admired greatly not only by Malayalam film industry but it also inspired Tollywood to remake it with Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Hassan in the lead. The film’s director Alphonse Puthren was greatly appreciated for his unique work.
However, Premam also faced some criticism and one of it came from senior filmmaker Mohan who is in jury chair for Kerala State Film Awards. He commented that Premam lacked a storyline or a structure- which is mandatory for any good film.
After long time since this comment came up, Alphonse replied to it in his Facebook handle saying that structure is subjective and Premam did have a structure of its own.
He also made some witty explanations about how a film should be watched and ironically wished Mohan a Happy Vishu (Malayalam new year!).
