These days the awards events and ceremonies have become so many that it has become a routine of sorts. The agenda for such an event has become more of a visibility platform for actors and actresses than recognizing true and deserving talent and felicitating them with awards.
However, there are also those events which are class apart and created a mark of their own. One such event is SIIMA (South India International Movie Awards) and since its inception four years ago, it has gained a lot of repute and respect among the film fraternity of south India.
Recently, another prestigious event IIFA Utsavam also took place in Hyderabad and it came amidst large hype. But the way the TRP ratings came for both the events, it turns out that SIIMA has emerged to be the biggest event of all the events. This goes to show its power and impact across various segments.
