There is always a fine line between mainstream cinema and arthouse cinema. Usually, the latter category fits well for film festivals and film related awards. The world’s prestigious and most sought after awards is the Oscars and usually unconventional films sweep the honours.
This year, the Oscars happened in grand style and yet again, the maximum scoop of awards has gone to a film which was actually certified as boring by the Indian audience. We are talking about the film Mad Max – Fury Road which has bagged six awards.
The film was nominated in ten categories. But when asked about it, many who saw the film mentioned that it was a boring flick and was nowhere near the original series which came nearly three decades ago. That’s how the Oscar story works!
