Ideally cinema is segregated into five genres namely action, comedy, romance, horror, thriller but with passing time different permutations and combinations have come into being. Today, we speak about rom-coms, horror-coms and crime thrillers. But yet another genre has begun emerging.
It is the family thriller genre and it is being considered as a hot commercial genre. Even Tollywood has begun adopting this genre. This has happened after the success of the film Drushyam featuring victory Venkatesh. This was a remake of a film that was made in Malayalam with the same title.
Now, yet another movie is creating new records in Mollywood and it is titled as Puthiya Niyamam. Reports from Kerala reveal this is also a family thriller and it has the Malayalam megastar Mammootty as the hero. The trade pundits are predicting it would become a blockbuster so prepare yourself for this new genre.
