Neither Seethamma Andalu nor Ramayya Sitralu are Great – One Time Watch!
Plot:
Ram (Raj Tharun) is a happy-go-getting youngster who loves his childhood muse Seetha (Arthana Binu) and his only aim in life is to win her love. On the other hand, Seetha (a medico) treats him as a good friend. After a series of failed attempts to express his love and a brief journey with Seetha, Ram assumes that she is in love with him which creates new problems for her. How did Ram win Seetha’s love and win her hand forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Raj Tharun: This new sensation attempts to impress with his trademark vigor and body language. In spite of his usual guy-next-door image, he plays a routine commercial role with punches, punch dialogues, songs and dances and of course with an extra dosage of all that.
Arthana Binu: She is a huge let down in the film. This new face could neither impress with her appeal nor act as the lead heroine.
Aadarsh Balarkrishna: He plays the lead baddie in the film – a flabby role rather put for name sake.
The comedy of Shankar, Josh Naveen, Vijay & others can tickle you once in a while.
While the rest of the able supporting cast including Raja Ravindra, Ranadheer, Surekha Vani, SriLakshmi, Jogi Nayudu, N Shankar & others couldn’t help this dreary drama.
Analysis:
When you watch few remarkable films, your writing naturally suffers from the hangover. With a fire to create something new and a natural inability to do so, one obviously takes an age old story and relies heavily upon the presentation.
This is what happens with the film. This ‘Tuneega-Tuneega’ love story point has been greatly exploited in many films. Despite a happening hero, decent supporting cast, village backdrop, a comedy gang, songs and the entire commercial stuff, what punctures the film is an insipid script and narration. If you are an average cinegoer, you might find couple of yesteryear hit films too!
The film has everything that a good commercial Telugu film needs (with an exception of one or two) but not the quintessential emotional connect and convincing narration that can give the audience a feel good film. However, if the film is a passable affair, due credit goes to Raj Tharun, Raja Ravindra, Shankar & Co.
Merits:
- Performances of Raj Tharun, Raja Ravindra, Ranadheer & others
- Comedy of Shakalaka Shankar, Josh Naveen & gang.
- Cinematography.
- Music & background score.
De-merits:
- Age old story with a lackadaisical narration.
Music:
Songs by Gopi Sundar are decent enough that are well-picturized too. But unfortunately with an insipid script, they go largely unnoticed. Same is the case with the background score also.
Others:
The production values are decent enough and locales are scenic – cheers to art direction department.
Verdict:
Seethamma Andaalu Raamayya Sitralu is a boring love story with few occasional gags, songs and all the commercial drama. Neither Seethamma Andalu nor Ramayya Sitralu could leave us impressed.
