Young Sharwanand and star hero Balakrishna stared this 2016 with Express Raja and Dictator respectively. While one is comedy entertainer, the other is a commercial mass masala entertainer. Both these films have exhibited their stamina at the box office but interestingly trade analysts opine that Sharwa’s Express Raja was better than Balakrishna’s Dictator, especially in the US market. While both the films released on the same day (i.e. 14th Jan) in the US, Sharwa’s Express Raja managed to collect Rs 1.35 Cr in the first week while Balakrishna’s Dictator lagged behind collecting about Rs 1.08 Cr.
Given NBK’s following and hype over Dictator, the US market tells us a different story. It is once again proved that Content is always the King! While it is important for Sharwa to continue this hit streak to survive in the game, the Nandamuri Natasimham needs to come back with a better film.
