Soggade Chinni Nayana is an upcoming entertainer starring Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ramya Krishna and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles. Music for this flick is composed by Anoop Rubens and directed by newcomer Kalyan Krishna. The film is produced in Akkineni home banner Annapurna Studios and touted to be a Sankranthi 2016 release. The fresh album starts off with Dikka Dikka Dum which already became quite popular in the promos. Nagarjuna’s slang styled dialogues are a highlight of this track and Dhanunjay along with Mohana Bhogaraju deliver an outright winner! Bhaskarabhatla gave some funky as well as vintage lyrics for this enjoyable number.
Nee Navve is a feel good duet sung by extremely talented Shreya Ghoshal and Dhanunjay and explores the melodious realms in modern day Telugu film music. Anoop uses mild digitization of the voices which gives it a modern touch embedded in old time goodness. Balaji’s lyrics speak of simple yet beautiful relationships in swift fashion.
It is time for dwelling deeper into melodious worlds with Vasthane Vasthane sung by legendary Hariharan and sultry voiced Kaushalya at their best. This song has some memorable lines penned by Rama Jogayya Sastry and will undoubtedly join the list of most melodious songs in Nagarjuna’s career. The song carries the soul of the film with great vigor and simplicity.
The same melody occurs in a slightly pathos yet introspective mode with Untale Untale Nee Vente Untale aided with neat strings and rightful ambience. Malavika does a brilliant job with her emotive voice and adorable interludes add like an icing on the cake. The same tune has been used for a different situation and Rama Jogayya Sastry does a great job in giving contrasting lyrics.
Just when the listener might wonder where is the peppy commercial touch, Anoop brings forth Addhira Banna which has lyrics praising the stunning looks and persona of one of the most celebrated celeb family- Akkineni! K.K’s impressive lyrics add to the funkiness of this number and harmonium touches give the native feel as well. This song will have great appeal on the masses!
Verdict:
Soggade Chinni Nayana is a fun album and stays true to the expectations. It can be termed as another memorable album for Nagarjuna as well as Anoop Rubens for its grace and vigor!
