You would have heard several times that the film industry is now running just like any other corporate organization and there is a lot of focus on the success and failures. Usually, when repeated failures happen that industry has no choice but to pack its bags and shut down the shops.
However, that formula doesn’t seem to apply for the film industry. For instance, Tollywood has seen a total of 165 movies this year and only 5 worked well at the box office. With this, many concluded that industry will perish if the same trend continues. But here is the slice of reality.
It is the same situation every year and hit percentage is always like that. In this regard, producers and some distributors lose their money or they try to recover it by doing one more movie. As such, the money doesn’t go anywhere, it goes into artists and technicians pockets. Thousands of families survive on the industry but only few hundreds prosper, that is the magic of cinema.
