Express Raja is an upcoming entertainer starring the talented Sharwanand and Surabhi in lead roles. Music is composed by Praveen Lakkaraju and the film is produced by prestigious UV creations banner. It is directed by Merlapaka Gandhi of Venkatadri Express fame. Here is an iQlik exclusive audio review of the album:
The album begins in a trance mode with Hulala sung in perfect pitch by Sweekar Agasthi. Srimani’s lyrics add the track a trendy touch and the riffs are quite impressive. However, the song has strange resemblance to Tu Meri from Bollywood album Bang Bang. The interludes are laced with neat violin and dew drop guitars. Silvia Anista does a commendable job by singing challenging low octave notes.
Colorful Chilaka is an upbeat number interesting fusion between folk and Hip-Hop. Narendra delivers the song so well in his sultry vocals and fantastic Telugu diction. The song has a catchy tune which would find its appeal to class and mass audience alike. The album sustains its superior technical values in this track as well.
The album take as a jazzy detour with Ee Vintha Needhiga ideally woven with interesting clarinet, saxophone and fantastic jazz drumming. The song slowly edges towards trance mode after a lazy jazz beginnings. Lipsika and Yazin Nazir do a brilliant job with their dusky voices which are a must for an underlying Jazz composition. Watch out for the layer of mridangam in rhythm section tossed with sitar which gives a new meaning for fusion.
The finale gets a urbane party touch in the form of final track 24/7 Party sung with all confidence by Yazin Nazir. The composer makes sure all elements of fun are present in the track for every layer. Yazin makes no mistakes with his flawless rendition and he becomes a fresh talent to look for trendy songs in Tollywood!
Verdict:
Express Raja is an out and out fun album high on technical values and freshness. It gives a new meaning to modernity at the end of this year!
