Everybody knows the musical prowess and the new heights which Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has touched in his composing career. He is the receiver of many international honors and a gold medalist in Classical Guitar Grade 8 as well. But here is a situation where even a cool headed person like him had to lose cool on a reporter! But what made him lose temper at a public event?
Tamil dynamic star Simbu collaborated with young composer Anirudh and made a Beep Song which is full of suggestive lyrics. The song instantly became viral and appealed to the masses yet there was lot of controversy surrounding it. Many lyricists of Kollywood condemned the song calling too vulgar for listening. Just when Maestro llaiyaraaja attended a press meet to raise funds for Chennai flood victims, one particular reporter was asking the composer to express his views on the ongoing controversy.
Ilaiyaraaja got greatly furious listening to this and questioned the reporter, “Do you have sense at all? Is this the moment to ask about such song? We are here for a good cause!” but the reporter didn’t succumb. When he started giving a back answer saying,” Of course I have sense. That is why I am asking because you are a composer!”. This led to an ugly scene and many people came in between to stop the mishap.
The video of Ilaiyaraaja blasting the reporter became viral now. While some people maintained that llaiyaraaja shouldn’t have reacted that way, most of the people are supporting the Maestro because they found justification in such furious reaction!
