More often than not, you would notice that nearly 90 percent of stories that you see on the celluloid find their roots from a chapter of the great epic Mahabharata. During the Black and White era, many also attempted to make movies with Mahabharata backdrop and they turned out to be masterpieces.
In today’s time, making a movie on Mahabharata backdrop is not at all easy but it is heard that two men in Tollywood have got their eyes on it. They are the tough taskmaster S S Rajamouli and the intellectual filmmaker Krish. Both the directors are interested in this subject but with a different perspective.
It is heard that they want to make a movie based on the book ‘Parva’ which is written by the famous Bhairappa. It is a practical interpretation of Mahabharata without any myth and with a psychoanalytical approach. Some feel Krish stands a good chance because he is very cost effective while Rajamouli means a separate glamour and a totally different range. Let us wait and watch.
