In order to become a successful filmmaker, a key element for you is to maintain good relations with everyone you interact and work. The main man among them is the producer. No director can fulfill his dream without the blessings of the producer. And a strong relation builds once they associate.
While most of them are professional, there are also times when a director and producer get attached at an emotional level. Here is one example. The national award filmmaker Neelakanta is known for his rational and intellectual moviemaking. But here is a personal thought from him about the producer of his movie Missamma.
‘If I came across anyone who loved cinema like i did, it was Satyamgaru...I will never forget Satyam garu or Missamma.... the film we collaborated on.. he was one of those rare producers who looked at cinema not from just a commercial angle,but from the aesthetic point of view..each film he produced had sincerity and passion written all over it. It is really a sad day for me... in my memories Satyam garu will always be there... may his soul rest in peace.’
