The atmosphere in the cinema circuit right now is filled with an affinity towards mythology, kings, warriors, history. The reason for that is the tremendous success of the magnum opus Baahubali. In Bollywood, movies such as Bajirao Mastani, Mohenjodaro and few others are already lining up.
Meanwhile, the Kollywood circuit is not far behind and they are coming with their magnum opus Puli. Recently the trailer was unveiled and while the response has been alright, few shots have reminded the Telugu audience of another movie. It is Bhairavadweepam starring Nandamuri Natasimham Balakrishna.
In Balayya’s movie, there are tiny Lilliputs and some interesting comedy was churned out with them. Now, the same seems to have been used in Puli. It remains to be seen how effectively this has been shaped up.
