Superstar Mahesh Babu is back with a bang. It isn’t us but in fact the box-office figures that are declaring this.
With a positive talk right from the first show, Mahesh’s Srimanthudu is whitewashing all the pre-existing records. Srimanthudu was naturally expected to set new records but the film has broken all the Non-Baahubali records and emerged to be the second highest grossing Telugu film in the history of Telugu cinema.
This Koratala Siva directorial has crossed the prestigious Rs 60 crores mark (gross) in just 4 days and by the end of the first week, Srimanthudu has raked in over Rs 85 crores (gross). Here is a quick breakup of Srimanthudu’s (Telugu version) collections -
AP + Nizam – Rs 53.60 crores
Rest of India – Rs 12.20 crores
Overseas – Rs 19.70 crores
Total – Rs 85.50 crores (Gross Box-office Collections) Worldwide
With the same pace, Srimanthudu shall make it into the ‘Rs 100 crore’ club in no time. And it will soon join the elite list of Telugu films to make into the Rs 100 crore club but possibly Srimanthudu shall be the second film after Baahubali to accomplish the rare feat (and that too with no Hindi dubbing version).
