The auspicious Godavari Pushkaraalu which began this month paved the way for lakhs of devotees coming from all over India to the Two Telugu States for a holy dip in the river. This doesn't mean the event went without any disturbances. In fact, the first day of Pushkaraalu marked a sad incident in Rajahmundry where 29 innocent lives were lost in the stampede. However, the event has been a fair success with good management and facilities provided for the devotees.
As this prestigious event is coming to an end, a closing ceremony is grandly planned in Rajahmundry for which some of the biggest dignitaries such as Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, cabinet ministers and prominent personalities will attend. It is already known that the artistic documentary on Godavari Pushkaraalu was done by High Voltage Tollywood filmmaker Boyapati Srinu. Surprisingly, all the arrangement responsibilities for this closing ceremony is also given for this tactful filmmaker.
The closing ceremony will commence on the banks of River Godavari in Rajahmundry on 25th July from afternoon till night. AP Goverment is spending crores of rupees to make this event a grand success. In parallel, there is another event happening in the Arts college premises, Rajahmundry featuring cultural programmes by Tollywood artists and Kuchipudi dancers. Nevertheless, there are some eyebrows raised to see Boyapati Srinu get the chance to organize such a big event because he was involved in the opening ceremony debacle which happened on the 14th of July.
We will have to wait and see whether Boyapati will impress everyone with spectacular show tomorrow, thereby silencing his critics!
