This National Award winner Dhanush is hitting the screens with his new film Maari today and this film is being directed by Love Failure movie fame Balaji Mohan. This commercial pot-boiler is jointly produced by Dhanush and yesteryear actress Raadhika Sarathkumar under Magic Frames & Wunderbar Films banner.
According to the initial reports from Tamil Nadu, this movie is catered exclusively for hardcore Dhanush’s fans and nothing beyond that. While regional and national critics have given thumbs down for Maari describing it a run-of-the-mill film, fans are celebrating Dhanush’s mass magic in the film. The trailer and Anirudh’s music were instant hits but looks like the prospects of the film are not bright at the box-office. This was indeed a make or break film for filmmaker Balaji Mohan of Love Failure film and he has pinned hopes on this commercial potboiler.
After films like Ranjhanaa and Velai Illa Pattathaari, Maari seems to be a deliberate attempt by Dhanush to withhold his mass fan-base and we just need to wait for this weekend to know where will Maari sit in Dhanush’s filmography.
