If a film becomes a hit in one industry then automatically other industry tries to remake or dub them. This is the current trend in the cine circuits and remakes or dubbing films are turning money spinner of late.
We are witnessing a lot of films getting exported from south to north and many Malayalam films like Bodyguard, Drishyam, Bangalore Days are showing their potential in other languages. Recently a film called Premam that was released in Malayalam and became a super hit was acquired by renowned production house Sravanthi movies (hero Ram’s home banner).
Now speculations are rife that Sravanthi Movies might remake the film with Ram in the leads but inside sources tip us that Ram may not do so. Earlier there were similar predictions that Dhanush’s Vellai Illa Pattadhari would be remade as Raghuvaran Btech with Ram in the lead but later they simply dubbed it into Telugu and scored a hit.
So we have to wait and see whether Premam would be remade or dubbed into Telugu. But industry onlookers say that it is a cute slice of life film and its magic cannot be recreated but who knows if we can find an able director, we can do it. Time has to decide!
