Our adoring Lokanayakudu Kamal Hassan is undisputably called as the pride of not only South Indian Cinema but also Indian Cinema. He has entertained the audience over 50 years with his versatile roles along with commercial entertainers. This multi faceted personality's latest Tamil release Papanasam is none other than the remake of Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam with Mohan Lal in the lead. It is only the strong content, family values and a social message which made Kamal choose this interesting project to be made in Tamil!
While Kollywood is waiting for this flick which is releasing worldwide today in breathtaking anticipation, Tollywood is relatively laid back about it! The obvious reason is simply because just an year ago, Venkatesh was featured in the same role for Telugu version of Drushyam! Though one cannot compare the performance of Venkatesh with national award winning actors like Mohan Lal, he did make a phenomenal impact on the Telugu Audience. Moreover, Drushyam is such a film which has tremendous suspense element and gripping screenplay. Coming to the Tamil version, Kamal's performance has been praised by the fans in trailer itself and there were certain comparisons with his earlier emotional film Mahanadhi too. We will have to wait and see whether Kamal added his own persona and impression on this evergreen script!
Incidentally, Drushyam is going to be releasing in Hindi as well with talented actor Ajay Devgan and Shriya Saran in lead roles. This film is due for release on this month end. In short, the month of July can be called as Drushyam month!
