Surinder Reddy is one of those directors who made his unique mark in Telugu Cinema with fun filled film like Kick released in 2009. He got the pulse of Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in perfect manner and executed it making no mistakes. Perhaps the thumping success of this film made him opt for making a second installment Kick 2 with the same team involving Ravi Teja and Thaman as music director. However, the second installement is produced by Nandamuri action hero Kalyan Ram.
Just when the film's audio release is done and would hit the screens quite soon, some differences seem to have propped up between Surinder Reddy and his producer Kalyan Ram. As per our sources, the reason behind the miscommunication is the budget of the flick. The film's budget was estimated to be around 30 Crore initially and Kalyan Ram planned out accordingly. But when the film was completed, the budget soared to 40 crores which led to impatience for Kalyan Ram.
Moreover, Kalyan Ram wanted to release the film on May 7 which also happened to be the release date of his breakthrough film Athanokkade. But due to certain reasons it wasn't implemented. Now, the film is not doing satisfactory business because there are huge films like Baahubali and Rudramadevi giving strong competition. To make it more worse, Srimanthudu is scheduled to release in August. Now the filmmakers of Kick 2 have no other option but to release it in last week of August or early September. Their obvious concern is whether the film can do good business if the delay goes on in this way.
Let us hope the differences between director and producer of Kick 2 clears and the film hits the screens as soon as possible!
