It is a known fact that Latha Rajnikanth, wife of Rajnikanth- the superstar of South Indian Cinema has been stirred in controversy relating to her earlier produced film Kochadaiyan (Vikrama Simha in Telugu). While the film left disappointment to the filmmakers as well as the fans alike, it is indeed saddening to see it still continues to haunt Superstar's family in this manner. In fact, Rajnikanth himself has been in a rough patch with disappointment of his recent films Kochadaiiyaan and Lingaa. A new twist occured in the controversy when Bengaluru Police department filed an FIR against Latha alleging her for producing fake letterheard documents with Publishers and Broadcast Welfare Association of India.
The FIR says Latha tried to sell the rights of Kochadaiiyaan twice by using this fake document and also involving another production house Ad Bureau, which helped the filmmakers with Rs. 10 Crore for its release. This also means that Latha owes this staggering amount to be repaid to the actual producers along with dealing the legal crisis. The complaint also says that the film's producer Latha sold Kochadaiiyaan rights illegally to Eros International while hte original rights exist with this company.
We will have to wait and see how this case unfolds and whether Latha overcomes the crisis or not.
