Hey cine buffs…can you name what Puri Jagannath is fond of other than cinema & Bangkok?
Well then we talk about his unique penchant for Tamil flavor and especially songs. His Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi includes a Tamil girl and a song titled "Lunch ki Vastava.." has the female singer singing in Tamil only. Even his Bujjigadu with Prabhas has a Chennai connection and few background score has Tamil songs in it. The director fondly says “I like the sounding of Tamil”.
And the latest example is his upcoming Jyothi Lakshmi. This movie is being directing by Puri Jagannadh and bubbly girl Charmme is playing the title role. Jyothi Lakshmi’s theatrical trailer was launched on the eve of Charmme’s birthday and this trailer is now creating a lot of buzz due to the scenes, dialogues and the new look of Charmme.
Interestingly, even this film has a song with Tami lyrics and we can notice Charmme singing it with rage. Young talented music director Sunil Kashyap composed tunes for this women centric subject based on the writing of Telugu writer Malladi Venkata Krishnamurthy.
Well, we need to wait till the audio release event of Jyothi Lakshmi when Puri has to disclose the secret behind this Tamil sentiment in his films.
