Sirivennela Sitaramasatry is venerated to be one of the most gifted lyricists for Telugu Cinema after legends like Sri Sri, Athreya and Veturi Sundararama Murthy. His adeptness in writing any sort of song with magical style and perfection earned him many Telugu fans all over the globe. It is indeed a rare feat for any lyricist to reinvent himself and his writing style to be consistent for nearly 29 years till date.

One such another legend from Tamil lands is none other than Vairamuthu. He is also known for his natural flow of writing and amazing word usage in Tamil songs for decades. He also has worked with many legendary filmmakers such as K.Balachander and bestowed life to their films through his fantastic lyrical brilliance.

What would have exactly happened when these two lyrical maestros meet? The obvious answer would have been knowledge sharing or a debate regarding the changing times of lyric writing in their respective film industries. But as legends do things differently, something very novel happened when they met!

Sirivennela apparently wanted to meet Vairamuthu and took an appointment from his secretary. When our Telugu legendary lyricist flew all the way to Chennai to meet him, unfortunately the Tamil legend wasn’t available. Just when Sirivennela was disappointed for the meeting’s postponement, he himself was stuck with some other work! After these initial hiccups, the two legends met and Vairamuthu felicitated Sirivennela in his own literary style by gifting him a pen! Vairamuthu also blessed Sirivennela saying he should write more such amazing songs with this pen.

Incidentally, Sirivennela wrote the songs for the two best albums in recent times- Rudramadevi and OK Bangaram with this pen!

This small incident itself is enough to tell many aspects of gifted people who think alike, who are down to earth and humble despite success hitting them every now and then! Let us hope these two legendary lyricists continue to enthrall the audience with their pen- as pen is mightier than sword!
