Among the many south Indian stars, the place for superstar Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan is special because they have been successful in sweeping the north Indian audience as well. So, one can imagine the mania they have created in Tamil Nadu. This is one reason why their references are constantly taken in Tamil films.
The latest to join that list is the movie Pooja. Starring Vishal and Shruti Haasan in the lead, the film has got many references to both the icons. Shruti’s introduction happens with a song from Kamal’s movie ‘Vishwaroopam’. Then there is a love song with the tune from Kamal’s movie which is used.
As for Rajini, there is a scene depicting the lungi dance in the film. A slice of Suriya was also there with a scene reminding of his movie Seventh Sense. All in all, the dominant reference of Rajini and Kamal was seen in Pooja. What remains to be seen is whether this would be good enough for the film to touch the success mark at the box office.
