Sukumar is one of the most gifted young directors of Telugu Cinema who can handle a delicate love story like Arya or a contrasting psychological thriller like 1-Nenokkadine with equal brilliance. He has secured a very good name in terms of presenting sensitive emotions and thought provoking films for Telugu Audience. However, after completion of 1- Nenokkadine, the director expressed his wish of doing a small film next. Meanwhile, he was working for story sitting with Young Tiger Jr.NTR as well. While this project was on the cards, it took long time for Sukumar for it to be confirmed.
