They say that ‘Face is the index of mind’ which implies the face conveys a lot about what is going on in the mind. Similarly, a title is more like the index for a film because it conveys what the film is going to be like. Lately, Tollywood seems to have developed a mania in terms of its titles with a particular trend.
They are picking up lines from hit songs of the past and coining them as the titles. Here are few examples- Soggade Chinni Nayana’ is likely the title for the new movie starring Nagarjuna in double role. Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya ’has Naga Shourya in the lead.
Similarly Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini has Sudheer Babu and Nandita and it is produced by Lagadapati Sridhar. Then we have Oka Laila Kosam starring Naga Chaitanya. We have already seen Oohalu Gusa Gusalade which released and scored a hit. Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham has Sai Dharam Tej.
This is not something new, on and off such titles keep coming. But now the flood has risen and this trend will continue till they get bored. In the past, the suffix ‘Rowdy’ was used for a season and ‘Mogudu’ came for another season. Later, ‘Alludu’ was used for some more time followed by cuss words like Pokiri, Poramboku, Kantri. Now, it is the turn of the songs.
