Oka Laila Kosam is an upcoming romantic film starring Naga Chaitanya and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles. Music for the film is scored by Manam fame Anup Rubens. The film is produced under the prestigious banner Annapurna Studios and here is an iQlik exclusive audio review of the album:
The album begins with a funky solo Ee Chinni Life with progressive electric guitar and good percussions. The overall ambience of the track is very pleasant and entertaining to the ears. Anup himself sang the song with good vigor and energy. The interludes are neatly woven to make it an enjoyable hearing.
O Cheli Nuvve Naa Cheli is a typical Anup Rubens composition with wonderful guitar and string sections. The talented Adnan Sami sang this song with his own style and aura. However, this track reminds the listener of Anup’s earlier compositions like Chinni Chinni Aasalu from Manam.
The pace is doubled up with O Meri Jaane Jaana sung by the pleasant sounding Javed Ali and the track has good trance like percussions and engaging guitar rhythm. The interludes are blended well with good disco sounds and interesting string section.
The much anticipated remix Oka Laila Kosam arrives next in a new Trance genre avatar. This version is interestingly sung by S.P.Charan who is the son of original singer SPB. The orchestration doesn’t tamper the original and retains the contemporary style as well. The best part is usage of voice from the original track with timely perfection. The interludes are newly designed with good foot tapping value.
The album transforms to an eerie mood with Teluse Nuvvu Raavani sung by another wonderful singer Ankit Tiwari. His modulations in singing become a highlight of the track. The interludes are well supported by lilting piano, violins, and trance genre touches.
Rubens Club Mix(Mashup) marks the finale of the album with paced up orchestration and ambience and having the best of all the songs in it. The mixing is done with good rhythmic value and interesting techno touches throughout.
Verdict:
Oka Laila Kosam is a sweet sounding album yet again from Anup Rubens. The album has good share of melodies and fast paced numbers. The remix version of the yesteryear ANR hit ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ surely stands out as the highlight in it!
