Many phrases would be needed to describe an actor and personality like Young Tiger Jr.NTR. He cannot be confined to just one phrase as the person himself is an extravaganza of many emotions and talents. Over decades, Tollywood has seen a horde of talented actors but it must be said that one actor earned that merit at a very young age. He is none other than Junior NTR and today he is celebrating his birthday. Junior made his debut as a child artist in ‘Ramayanam’ at the age of 13.
He is proficient in classical dance and thanks to that, he has set some top quality benchmark in dancing for Telugu heroes. Most importantly, right from first movie, his facial similarities with his grandfather N T Rama Rao are quite similar and that gave him that unique aura.
Jr. NTR would be the only person of his age in Telugu Film Industry who can adorn a mythological character with unmistakable ease and deliver a touch sanskritised dialogue in a single take. It is not an easy thing to adorn a mythological character because it demands lot of hard work, good physique- and most importantly passion for Arts and History. He definitely inherited these qualities from his grandfather and his debut film “Ramayanam” itself showed that a star is born. A trained Kuchipudi dancer himself, it would be a mistake if people think he confines himself to only classical dance. He can perform a mass number, a graceful duet, or a passionate solo with equal dedication and ease – thereby making the viewer clap with awe!
Though Jr.NTR graced the Telugu Cinema with Student No.1 as the full time hero, he took his time in creating a ripple of curiosity among the viewers about his acting skills. After playing a happy go lucky college going student in this film, nobody imagined he would stun the audience with Aadi a year later, directed by V.V.Vinayak. After Balakrishna, it was the turn of Jr.NTR in delivering powerful punch lines and he broke all the boundaries of emotions in acting as Aadi Keshava Reddy, a youngster belonging to a Rayalaseema Factionist family. His line “Amma Thodu, Addamga Narikestha!” became the talk of the town then. The variations in his performance ranging from a cool lover to a serious man waiting to avenge his parents death was something out of the world.
It was time for the better of Jr.NTR to be unleashed and this time S.S.Rajamouli, who incidentally directed his hero debut film Student No.1 decided to make Simhadri with his hero next. Simhadri was a huge breakthrough not only for Jr.NTR but also for S.S.Rajamouli as a perfect commercial director of Modern Telugu Cinema. People clapped and danced for the heavy mass number “Nuvvu Whistle Vesthe” when they saw Jr.NTR perform dance steps like a lightening. Another veteran director Krishna Vamshi chose Jr.NTR for a tough role as an emotional hero for his Women oriented script Rakhi, for which his performance was critically acclaimed. Jr.NTR became an undisputed choice for roles which demanded aggression, sentiment, and flawless emotional range. The hit combination of Jr.NTR and Rajamouli struck again with Yamadonga, a mythological fiction film which featured Jr.NTR as Lord Yama for few scenes- thereby giving a treat for Nandamuri fans.
Kantri, Adhurs, Brindavanam- the journey of Jr.NTR went smoothly with such good entertainers having a right dose of comedy, sentiment, action and entertainment. However, he struck a comedy extravaganza with Srinu Vaitla’s Baadshah last year with nonstop comedy and entertainment- which became one of the best hits for that year.
Jr.NTR is a fine playback singer as well who sang for his own duets. He often quotes that he is an ardent fan of yesteryear music and an admirer of fine arts- which explains his humble and unique personality. At an era where heroes are more focused on social dramas, romantic entertainers and cakewalk styled roles, Jr.NTR strives hard to continue the legacy of his family by giving value to Fine Arts and the fading away aspects of Mythological films and stage drama.
The rest as they say is history in terms of his career progression. Junior had good presence on the political front. During 2009 elections, he campaigned aggressively for elections but this time he stuck only to films. His current movie ‘Rabhasa’ stills released and got good response. His next film with Puri Jagannath is announced and that is set for Sankranthi 2015 release.
The Young Tiger is celebrating his 31st birthday today and iQlikmovies.com would like to wish him a very happy artistic birthday and all the best for his upcoming release Rabhasa!
