Sekhar Kammula is one of the few sensible and aesthetic filmmakers of Tollywood. But he bears a negative remark that all his films have bulk footages and long durations. And there is a rumor that his last film Life is Beautiful had almost an 8hr footage that has been cut down to optimal duration.
Now, even Anaamika’s final cut has come around 2 hr 43mins. Though it appears to be optimum but since Anaamika isn’t a regular film but indeed an edgy thriller based on a woman’s quest for her husband with absolutely no commercial elements. So, on the advice of senior writer Veerendranath (also the writer of the film), Sekhar has trimmed about 38mins of the film bringing it down to around 2 hr 5mins.
The film that is entirely based on screenplay and performances should be short, sweet and engaging to the peaks. So, guess Sekhar has learnt some lessons from the past and getting this into groove this time!
