The year 2014 has been special so far with many of the film-related celebrities make their foray into direct or indirect politics. Irrespective of the results, the phenomenal growth in the participation of celebrities cannot be ignored. Google India has released the detailed report of “Most Searched Celebrities for 2014 Election Season” and we can see many unexpected names on the list.
As per the report, Tollywood hero Pawan Kalyan has topped the popularity chart followed by Kannada actress-turned-politician Divya Spandana and poet-turned-politician Kumar Vishwas. Though the popularity and the admiration for Pawan Kalyan is a known thing, this once again proves the interest he generates among the audience with his day to day activities! And, Google has taken the worldwide searches into consideration for composing this “most searched celebrities” list.
"A lot of celebrities are contesting in 16th Lok Sabha elections. Celebrities have always been a major draw for political parties in the Indian electoral process, especially in the campaigning phase but they are expected to play a bigger role in this election season," Google said in a statement.
The other celebrities named in the list include retired actress Nagma, senior actress Hema Malini, item girl Rakshi Sawant, hero-turned-parliamentarian Chiranjeevi, stand-up-comedian Raju Srivastava, Bhojpuri hero Manoj Tiwari, veteran actress Jayaprada and Bengali film star Dev.
