Aashiqui 2 was a runaway success in Bollywood last year with a killer soundtrack and some solid performances from the lead cast of Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The film showcased the lives of two musicians, their relationship and the pain involved in their separation. Aashiqui 2 has managed to cross the 100 crore mark and was rated as one of the top grossers at the box-office.
The latest news is that Aashiqui 2 is being remade into Telugu by young hero Sachiin Joshi. Do you remember Sachin? Yes, he is the one who got introduced into Tollywood by SV Krishna Reddy with a film titled Mounamelanoyi many years back. Though the film was a disaster at the box-office, the music by Ramana Gogula has brought some crowds to the theaters. Later, Sachin has acted in two more Telugu movies: Ninnu Choodaka Nenundalenu and Orey Pandu, which were also failures!
With his latest Hindi movie Jackpot making some money at the box-office [with the help of Sunny Leone], Sachiin is planning to remake the successful Aashiqui 2 in Telugu. The hunt for a star heroine has been still going on [Kajal Agarwal, Tamanna, etc were already approached]. On the other hand, the makers have decided that Jaya Ravindra will be directing this love story. Ravindra has directed films like Bumper Offer and Dillunnodu in the past and gained a good reputation for finishing the film in a record time!
