The 70yr old maverick composer is survived by his two sons Karthik Raja, Yuva Shankar Raja and a daughter Bhavatharani. Born Gnanadesikan, he was given the screen name 'Ilayaraja' by the producer of his debut film Panchu Arunachalam.
