On the occasion of Children’s day, Hyderabad city is all set to host 18th International Children's Film Festival of India (ICFFI). This week-long event was inaugurated today in the presence of state Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari, veteran lyricist Gulzar and Hindi actor Ranbir Kapoor.
From 48 countries, 203 films have been picked for screening, out of which 84 films are Indian productions. DK Aruna, AP Minister for Information and Cinematography said, “For the first time, 3-D movies would be shown in ICFFI, along with 20 best films from Toronto, Berlin and Cannes international film festivals.”
Amazingly, ICFFI had received 285 animation films from across the globe. District educational officers of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy have made special arrangements to send school children to view the documentaries and films to be screened during the seven-day festival. This International Children's Film Festival of India is also known as “The Golden Elephant”.
