AR Rahman to score for Hollywood flick

AR Rahman, a music cyclone has achieved many feats in the music world. The 48-year old composer is all set to score music for a Hollywood flick titled ‘Million Dollar arm’, a product of Walt Disney Pictures. The Mozart of Madras, who has two Oscars, a Golden Globe and a Grammy award to his account has earlier scored music for seven English films including Slumdog Millionaire.

Million Dollar Arm is being directed by Australian film-maker Craig Gillespie and it casts Jon Hamm, Bill Paxton, Lake Bell, Suraj Sharma, Asif Mandvi, Madhur Mittal and Alan Arkin. The film is based on a real life Baseball agent Jeff Bernstein, who discovered dexterous baseball pitchers, Rinku Singh and Dinesh Patel through a reality show he staged in India.

Well-known screenplay writer Tom McCarthy (The Visitor, The Station Agent and Win Win) has been hired by Disney to write this sports genre. The principal shooting of the film has been recently shot in India, Georgia and Los Angeles and the movie is slated for May 16th, 2014.
