Until quite recently, Telugu Cinema music was pioneered by two music directors. Either it was DSP or it was Thaman. Every big budget cinema had either of these two in the music department. To suit the star hero’s image and foot tapping songs, film makers approached DSP. However, he is expensive. He cannot give tunes in a jiffy. DSP takes time in composing music. If it is Thaman, he can give tunes whenever the film maker would ask for. He composes songs by keeping a previous hit song in mind and he looks for the composed song to become a hit eventually. His remuneration is comparatively cheaper. Because he is financially reasonable, Thaman became a music director having good demand. He worked with almost all star heroes such as Ravi Teja, Jr.NTR, Venkatesh, Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun. While DSP took more than 12 years to complete the milestone of 50 films, Thaman is arriving towards the milestone in a rapid fashion.
With the effervescence of Thaman, DSP had to slow down. Nevertheless, DSP has been getting offers in his own pace. In that way, these two music directors shared most of the Telugu Films off late. But now, another music director is entering the arena shared by these two. He is hampering the opportunities which these two composers get. He is emerging as the third power now. He is none other than Anoop Rubens who is zooming in with series of hits such as Ishq, Poola Rangadu, Prema Kavali and Gunde Jaari Gallanthayindhe. All these films were musically successful. He is giving such songs which would raise the heart beat of the youth. Anoop is balancing melody as well as fast beat with equal balance and enthralling the audience. As a result, the film industry drew its attention towards this young composer. He got chance to work with big upcoming projects such as Manam and Heart Attack. He is composing music even for Jr.NTR’s next venture.
Anoop should have got all these opportunities long back. He should have gone in the top gear with the success of Ishq. But his career could not take off until the success of Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde. But it is never too late. He is rising to power to become equal with DSP and Thaman and managing to get the right opportunities. Even this is for good because only with competition, the real talent comes out. We need to see how well Anoop would give a tough competition to DSP and Thaman in the coming days.
