Rangula Ratnam 1987 story at a glance
A mother’s love for her kids is perfectly equal just like how one loves each of their eyes. If either of the children are suffering, the mother would feel terrible. A mother’s love is equal to all. There have been many films in Cinema which highlighted the fact about mother’s eternal love and they continue to come. That is why Rangula Raatnam directed by B.N.Reddy became an eternal film with values, though it did not achieve the deserving success. It was critically acclaimed and even awarded the Golden Nandi. It became a jewel in Anjali Devi’s career for her portrayal of a selfless mother. It was the very first film starring Vijayanirmala in a full length role. In fact, her name was Neeraja till this film. The portrayal of the childhood character of hers in the film was done by Gemini Ganesan’s daughter Baby Bhanu Rekha. Chandrasekhar, an agricultural Bsc graduate was introduced to Telugu Cinema with this film as Chandramohan, who later became an ideal second hero and a talented character artist. Prominent stage artist Kakarala acted in this film along with working as an assistant director. The film was made with great family values with no scope for vulgarity.
