Chaduvukunna Ammayilu story at a glance

Chaduvukunna Ammailu became another jewel in Krishna Kumari’s career which featured her to be best choice for roles attracting sympathy. With somebody like Savitri in the main lead, the second female lead should excel in her performance. Krishna Kumari did exactly the same in this film by understanding the scope of her characterization by presenting glamour in timely fashion and sharing good chemistry with ANR.

Story Details:
Sujatha (Savitri), the daughter of a rich family and Vasantha (Krishna Kumari), a daughter of poor household are good friends. Sujatha has great fondness for her friend Vasantha and teaches car driving to the latter. A nervous Vasantha hits a Sekhar (ANR) a passer by on the road. Sekhar is a bank employee and initially he gets furious over the accident. But he helps Vasantha by telling the story in different manner when in court. As a result, the three of them become friends. Sujatha secretly admires Sekhar for his good nature. In the meantime Vasantha and Sekhar are in love. Sujatha soon realizes this and marries a police officer Prabhakar (Sobhan Babu). Suddenly, another beautiful woman Latha (E.V.Saroja) enters the story. Latha runs away from her house in order to escape a forced marriage and is rescued by Sekhar. She starts loving Sekhar’s friend Anand (Padmanabham) who incidentally is a liar and cheat. Vasantha’s grandfather (Gummadi) falls ill and she leaves for her howetown to attend him. She even brings her grandfather to the town.  Sekhar starts helping Vasantha’s family but her grandmother (Hemalatha) finds him suspicious. To make things worse, Anand starts poisoning the grandmother’s mind by telling wrong things about Sekhar. This makes the grandmother realize that something is there between Sekhar and Vasantha. Suddenly, a huge sum of money is needed for the grandfather’s treatment. Sekhar sends the money to Vasantha through his friend Anand. But Anand runs away with the money and the crime falls on Sekhar. Sekhar goes to underground and Sujatha tries her best to rescue him. Sujatha’s husband starts suspecting the good intentions of her. But Sujatha fights over the differences in her family. She makes her friend Vasantha , and her husband Prabhakar understand the reality of the situation. During the end , Anand’s wrongdoings are exposed to the world by Sujatha, Prabhakar and Vasantha. The film ends on a happy note with the wedding of Sekhar and Vasantha.

Performances:
ANR is adorable as the lead hero Sekhar. He looks extremely glamorous and handsome by sharing good chemistry with Savitri and Krishna Kumari alike.Savitri is excellent as Sujatha in the role of a strong woman.  Her role gets more important as the film progresses. Krishna Kumari is ideal as the love interest of the hero and gets a responsible role. Padmanabham did a negative role and he pulls it off with ease. Suryakantham and Relangi offer good comedy relief. Gummadi and Hemalatha are good as the grandparents of the heroine.

Technical Aspects:
The film’s base story has been adapted from popular novel Kaalateeta Vyakthuku by Dr.P.Sridevi. However, talented screenwriters Yaddanapudi Sulochanarani, Adurthi Subba Rao, K.Vishwanath and Dukkapati Madhusudana Rao adapted it perfectly for the feature film. They added glamour, fun, entertainment and good sentimental values to the film. S.Rajeshwara Rao’s melodious music is a strong asset as well. Okate Hrudayam Kosamu, Vinipinchani Raagale, Kila Kila Navvulu Chilikina, Emiti Ee Avataram became all time hits. Adurthi Subbarao’s crystal clear way of narrating the story is a huge reason for the film to get successful.
