There have been many double action oriented films in not only Tollywood but also in the national arena. It was high time when Nagarjuna decided to act in such Double action comedy entertainer which was quite an experiment then. The film was none other than Hello Brother which became super hit for the amazing entertainment and comedy it offered.
Story Details:
The film begins with an S.P (Sharath Babu) who catches the criminal (Charan Raj) and in turn kills the latter during a fight. The criminal’s son keeps this grudge on the S.P and his rescued by his father’s close associate (Rajanala). Meanwhile S.P is blessed with twin boys and they get sadly separated during this action sequences. While one boy grows up to be the mass oriented Deva (Nagarajuna), the other becomes classy Ravi Varma (Nagarajuna) who is taken care of his father in US. The real fun element begins when Ravi Varma arrives in Hyderabad and as the twins share a reflex connection, every action of one twin lands the other in trouble. Deva has his childhood friend (Brahmanandam) who commit petty thefts and one such moment he meets Manga (Ramya Krishna). Manga instantly likes the bold attitude of Deva and falls in love with him. Ravi Varma meanwhile is a musician who starts liking the organizer Akkamamba (Annapurna)’s daughter Ooha (Soundarya). Rest of the film is about how the twins unite and how they take the revenge on the villain’s son (Napoleon).
Performances:
Nagarjuna excels as the mass oriented Deva and classy Ravi Varma is unmistakable ease. His comedy timing is best utilized in the character of Deva brilliantly. He looks dashing in songs and this film fetched him the mass hero image perfectly. Ramya Krishna is fantastic as the love interest of Deva and she acts par excellence. Soundarya is cute as the innocent Ooha who is obsessed with traditional dressing. Brahmanandam is hilarious as the assistant of Deva and the real comedy relief occurs with Kota Srinivasa Rao and Mallikarjuna Rao who played the role of Police and constable respectively. Ali manages to create few laughs and Napoleon is highly vicious as the villain. Rajanala does the role of villian’s associate as a cakewalk. Giribabu, Sharatbabu, Babu Mohan, Srihari, Annapurna, Sangeetha are seen in pivotal roles.
Technical Aspects:
Dialogues by L.B.Sriram is a huge asset for this film as it has essentially comedy in every scene. Story was written by E.V.V.Satyanarayana the director himself and is done quite crisply. The songs were shot in exotic locations as well as in Hyderabad with good ease. Music by Raj-Koti is entertaining and Priya Raagale became an all time hit.
