Trade
Post the success of “Yem Maaya Chesave”, Gautam Menon’s popularity increased by several folds in Telugu. He was able to create the same feel before the release of Yeto Vellipoindhi Manasu. Thus, he had set high standards for himself, which he could not meet with the movie. Thus the movie remained a failure. But it had raked in good numbers in US.
Highlights
Yeto Vellipoindhi Manasu is the second combination movie of Nani and Samantha. Earlier, they paired up for Eega.
The movie was named as “Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu”, inspired by a song of the same name from the 1996 film “Ninne Pelladutha”.
The movie was simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil. In Tamil, the movie was titled ‘Neethaane En Ponvasantham’ with Jiva as the male lead.
Sidelights
Ram was considered the main lead in the movie initially but he backed off from the project due to clashes with producer, Bellamkonda.
As the shooting of the movie neared completion, Bellamkonda and Gautam Menon differed with each other and later C.Kalyan bought the movie.
