Loknath (Sai Kumar) is close associate of Balayya. In clashes Balayya dies and Loknath takes over power of leading the village. Loknath marries Balayya’s wife and adopts his son Mitra. Loknath wants Mitra to be his successor but this irks Chinna (Sundeep Kishan) and feels he is left alone. Later Mitra comes to know about the intentions of Loknath and walks out of the house. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
The movie was highly acclaimed by critics. They praised the movie a lot but with the commercial factor, the movie ended as an average grosser at box office. The movie was made with a budget of 3.5 crores.
This is Deva Katta’s second film. First was Vennela (2005).
Sharwanand teamed with Deva for the second time.
Dialog King Sai Kumar who played crucial role in this film won Filmfare Award and Nandi Award in Best Supporting Actor Category. His performance was top notch in this film.
The film received Bronze Nandi and Deva Katta received Special Award in Filmfare.
The film was selected for screening in the Indian Panorama section at International Film Festival of India, Goa.
Ruby Parihar debuted in Tollywood with this film as heroine. Later she did not do any Telugu films.
