Maro Charitra story at a glance
Balu (Varun Sandesh) is an NRI and Swapna (Anita) is a girl who just moves to USA because of her father’s research. Balu’s father (Pratap Pothan) and Anita’s mother (Urvashi) are just like opposite poles in nature. But Balu and Anita fall in love and their parents obviously object their alliance. Later they lay a condition they allow their relationship only if they do not meet/communicate for a year. What happens next in their lives is the rest of the story.

There was a huge publicity to the movie and added to the hype it is the remake of a classic with the same title, there was so much of curiosity and hype around the project. But the movie failed to come anywhere near the original and was the biggest failure in Dil Raju’s production then. -
Highlights

The movie is the modernized remake of K.Balachander’s Maro Charitra. The movie titles and the hero/heroine names are same as the original. The famous ‘Ye Teega Puvvuno’ and ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ from the original were remixed for the movie.

Dil Raju for the first time made a movie on the other banner. Instead of his regular, Sri Venkateswara Corporation, he produced the movie on Matinee Entertainments banner.

Ravi Yadav, the famous Tamil cinematographer made his directorial debut with this movie. It was his last movie too (till today: October 5th, 2013).

- Ram Charan is the chief Guest to the audio launch function. He launched the audio CD and gave the first unit to VV Vinayak. MM Keeravani launched the audio cassette and gave the first unit to Anushka.
