Sanjay Sahu (Pawan Kalyan) is a happy go-lucky college going lad. He meets Bhagmathi (Ileana), his junior in college. Further, both of them fall in love which is opposed by her father (Prakash Raj), a police officer. At the same time there is Damodar Reddy (Mukesh Rushi) who starts chasing down Sanjay Sahu. Sanjay Sahu's past is the point of objection for both Prakash Raj and Damodar Reddy. What is it? And how does it resolve forms the rest of the story.

Trivikram had rightly identified the elements which would interest Pawan Kalyan fans and has embedded everything in the movie. The music composed by Devi Sri Prasad was a rage then and finally, the movie went on to become the biggest hit in Pawan Kalyan's career then.
Highlights
Jalsa is the first combination of Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram. Few years later Trivikram had penned script for Pawan's Teenmaar. And they kept working from then onwards.
This is the first time Ileana and Pawan Kalyan paired up.

The makers of the movie had released a mobile game named 'Jalsa' just before the movie release for the sake of promotion. It was first of its kind in Tollywood then.
The audio of the movie is still one of the best albums in Pawan Kalyan's career. The audio rights of the movie were purchased for whopping Rs. 90 Lakhs then by Aditya music. It was a big record then.
Mahesh Babu narrates the movie for the audience. It was in fact for the first time a star hero lending voice to another star's movie.
